Rat & Mouse Control
The RM’s Pest Control Officer (PCO) is Katlin Lang. On an annual basis, Katlin visits both occupied and unoccupied farm yards and grain storage areas inspecting for infestations, placing bait where necessary. Bait is provided to ratepayers free of charge and is available at the RM Office.
Weed Control
The RM’s Weed Inspector is Robert Baker. If you have or know of any noxious, prohibited or nuisance weed areas in the RM please contact the RM Office. More information regarding the identification of these weeds can be found here.
Ground Squirrel & Pocket Gopher Control
The RM has a supply of Rozol RTU for controlling the gopher population in the RM. 9kg pails of Rozol are available to RM ratepayers at a cost of $126.14 per pail. Contact the RM Office to pick up your pail or if you have any questions.
We also have a new product called Burrow Oat Bait. This bait has seen similar results to liquid strychnine. They are sold in 20kg bags and can be purchased from the RM at a cost of $99.50 per bag.
2% Liquid Strychnine
The Health Canada Pest Management Regulatory Agency (PMRA) will be cancelling the approved use of 2% liquid strychnine for the control of Richardson Ground Squirrel. Important dates to note:
